Do You Lose Your iPhone Often? Don’t Let It Slide
I would absolutely go nuts if I ever lost a phone I spent a fortune on. Especially a phone as expensive and exquisite as the apple model phones. I would seriously consider smashing my head on the wall. Well I said I would ‘consider’ it, am not really going to do it, well not in a lifetime. My phone is very important to me but I wouldn’t think of hurting myself out of anger, not for an iPhone.
Losing one’s phone feels unbearable sometimes, especially if you are the ‘Good Samaritan’ kind of person that returns any lost stuff you find. You would always feel like screaming to the heavens, asking why there’s so much wickedness in the world, why you deserve your fate, everybody feels like that every once in a while, unless your phone has never been stolen before. If so, then consider yourself absolutely lucky, if not, then you understand what I’m talking about.
I remember back when I was still in the university, I had this iPhone, can’t really remember the model but it was pretty sleek at the time, top notch and high end, held its own. Then I was one of the few who had the privilege of owning such Hi-tech mobile phone, never let it leave my sight, never left it in the hands of my friends for long. I was over protective of it, understandably so, but protective measures had no ultimate effect and I soon lost the phone.
It was on the day of the final exams, and I guess the thief has had his eyes on my phone for ever and didn’t miss the chance to break my little heart and steal my phone. Before the exams had begun, everybody was patted down and told to do away with all the gadgets and phones. Hurriedly, I removed my iPhone and put it in a shoulder bag I normally carry and set it down amongst other people’s stuff. I never thought it would be in any sort of danger since everybody should obviously be busy with exams, well I thought wrong, because after the exams, everybody was rushing to where all the bags were to get theirs. I followed suit, lifted my bag and it felt a lot lighter than it should be. My heart skipped a beat and my ears felt hot instantly and my palm started sweating. I reached for the zip and opened it, and it finally dawned on me, I just lost my phone. I tried to think when the thief might have had the chance to take it, but the more I try to think, the more I felt like crying. I stood there, looking dejected and speechless, while everybody around me seemed busy with one thing or the other. I strolled home and didn’t talk to anyone till the next morning.
I think back to that day and smile, thinking if it’s now and with everything I’ve learned about phone’s security from technology sites and blogs, I would have had a chance to get the phone back or make sure the thief didn’t use it.
To be ‘safest’, I install all the trending anti-theft apps I hear works wonders, like the iLostFinder. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. Installing anti-theft app gives me a tiny feeling of hope, since I get chance to track and possibly retrieve my lost or stolen iPhone. I hope I don’t lose my iPhone again, but if it happens, then am sure to get on top of the situation with the aid of my new found top-notch iPhone anti-theft app.
